Upon successful completion of this 16-hour IN-PERSON intermediate-level first aid training, the candidate will receive a valid certification that meets the requirements of 'Intermediate First Aid Training' as defined in the CSA Z1210-17 standard.

Accessible and practical, this course develops vital skills for protecting and rescuing loved ones or anyone in danger, thereby strengthening community safety.

Virginia's state plan (VOSH) adopts federal OSHA 29 CFR 1910 except 1910.151(a) and (b), so there is no state mandate requiring a trained first-aider at general-industry worksites; construction employers remain covered under 16 VAC 25-160 (including 1910.151(c) eyewash), with no fixed numeric ratio.
Under 8VAC20-780-530 (Standards for Licensed Child Day Centers), administered by the Virginia Department of Education's Office of Child Care Health and Safety, at least two staff with current CPR and first aid must be present during operation with at least one certified per classroom; the CPR skills demonstration must be in person while the didactic portion may be online (blended).
Va. Code § 8.01-225 grants civil immunity to anyone who in good faith and without compensation renders emergency care, covering ordinary negligence but not gross, reckless, or intentional misconduct.
Registered and licensed practical nurses in Virginia meet the Virginia Board of Nursing's continued-competency rule at each renewal, and recognized, documented CPR/first-aid training counts toward it.
In Virginia's assisted living facilities, nursing homes and home-care services — where the certified nurse aide credential and registry are overseen by the Virginia Board of Nursing — employers commonly require current CPR and first-aid training, and a recognized, up-to-date certificate meets this expectation in addition to occupational training.
Virginia foster parents complete state-approved pre-service training that includes CPR, first aid and medication administration, with CPR/first-aid certification in place before a child is placed, recognized by the Department of Social Services as part of the approval process.
Online CPR and first aid training is recognized in Virginia with no ban on online training for workplace first-aiders, issuing a 3-year certification, though a hands-on component is recommended for CPR.
